Today’s Countdown to the February 4th release of DO OR DIE is a chat, right here on this blog page, in the comments section below!
I’ll be here to answer questions and say hi from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET.
Everyone who posts a comment (today, Jan. 9th, between now and 9:30 p.m. ET) is automatically entered to win a signed ARC (advance copy) of DO OR DIE! (So do pop in, even if just to say hi!)
Now, this website is new, and I’ve never done a chat here before, so we’ll be feeling our way as we go. But I think it’ll be pretty simple. You leave a question or comment in the comment section, and I reply! (If you have more to say, you then reply to my reply! Yay!) (And the coolest part is that our conversations will be archived. In the past, I’ve done similar chats on Facebook, but they scroll away into the mists of time!)
Here are instructions for the technologically challenged:
Start by going to the blog page for DO OR DIE Countdown: Day Six.
(And yes, some of you who are reading this are already here! Good job!)
Scroll down to the comments section (or click on the link to “Comments” at the top of the page.)
If there are a lot of questions already posted, quickly scan through to see if your question has been asked. If it has, feel free to hit reply to that question and add your thoughts and comments. If not, post your question as a new comment!
(Just fill in the required info: your name, and your email address. Your website is optional. But DO click the button that says “Confirm that you are not a spammer,” or else your post will get pulled into my spam folder and not appear on the page!)
Feel free to post your question (or comment — you’re welcome to just say hi, or let me know which books resonated with you, etc!) throughout the day today if you can’t attend the chat during tonight’s timeframe. But when I sign in to the site at 8:00 pm. (ET), I’m gonna start by answering any questions posted live first. (Because that’s what makes a live chat most fun — the ability to interact in real time!) I’ll get to as many of the previously posted questions as I can! And everyone who posts is eligible to win the ARC.
But here’s the deal (AKA fine print) about winning the ARC. I will notify the winner on tomorrow’s Countdown page, and that winner must then email me with snailmail info within 24 hours, so I can sign and sent the prize. THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO ALL READERS WHO LIVE ON PLANET EARTH. (Sorry Omicron Beti Fivers.)
Okay, that’s it! See you tonight!

Thank you so much!
It will be great to have a new Suz book to read. Hope to make it to chat tonight but one never knows. Will definitely see you in East Brunswick, NJ when you are in the area to do your signing.
Hi Suz/hi Ann
I’m going to be at NJ signing too. Can’t wait!
Steph
Hi Suz/Hi Ann/Hi Steph!
Oh look – it’s part of my tribe! Sorry I won’t be in NJ (sigh) but….I will be in Florence, SC!! So excited!
Hi Suz/ Hi Ann/ Hi Steph/ Hi Anne. :). Happy New Year!
Waving from the warm part of the world lol
So glad we get a new Suz book to devour soon!
Oh, boy, the band is back together. Go Suz Fans! Go Professional Romance Fans! (hi ya, Ann, Anne, Steph, Rose and Suz)
I am in the process of re-reading the Troubleshooters series to gear up for your new book! You are the author that I always suggest when anyone asks for a recomendation. Thanks!
I love your books, and I’m so glad you are revisiting the troubleshooters. My sister loves Martell, so I got to be the bearer of good tidings about his appearance in this one!! Thanks!!
Hey, Suz!
We met a couple of years ago in Dayton (and again in Kentucky with my son, I’m that kind of stalkery woman…) when you were on the BTD tour. Any plans for more books in that series? I think I read that your readership didn’t follow you into that world, but there are definitely some of us who need to know what happens next!
Hi Suz, this online chat tonight should be fun, hope to make it. I was wondering how long on average does it take you to write these amazing stories? Also are you a plotter or a pantzer? I believe I read somewhere that you’re a plotter but wasn’t sure. Any advice for us newbies? And one last question, really lol, what are your feelings on self publishing vs. traditional?
Thanks and hope to chat tonight.
Jacquie Biggar
Eagerly anticipating the release of this book. Your countdown sure helps. Was wondering if your movie “The Perfect Wedding” will ever make its way to the Ann Arbor film festival?
Jill
I am so looking forward to a new book from you, especially one that includes Martell! You can imagine how delighted I was to learn he’ll be the hero of the next one. Though I feel a bit like the woman in the old Mervyn’s ads, saying “Open, open, open” (or whatever the corollary is here… “Write, write, write”?). Is it 2015 yet? 😉
I’m a longtime reader based in sunny (at the moment) New Zealand. I’m just re-reading Troubleshooters from beginning to end (nice way to finish my day) . I’ve just finished Force of Nature and had forgotten how funny Martell is, so I am another who is glad he’s coming back! I was watching Olympus Has Fallen the other day and when they said “we’re sending in the SEALs” I was all “oh yeah this will be over now” and then the SEALs were really stupid! I could only think “if this was Team 16, they would totally have sorted this situation”. My husband wanted to know how I knew so much about SEALs,,,
So my question is, in your dream movie casting, who would play Sam, Jules, Robin, Cosmo and Stan? And my second question is will we ever find out more about Jake and Zoe’s ongoing story?
Thanks!
Can’t wait to read this. I miss Jules and Robin and all the troubleshooters!!
I love all of your books, but especially the Troubleshooter series. Can’t wait to read this one!!
Can’t wait for your new book! Love them all. Own them all. You keep writing books and I’ll read them all, over and over again. Please keep the books coming. It’s always cause for celebration when a new book of yours comes out! Thanks for writing great books.
Hi Suz! I’ve been waiting for this book for so long I can barely contain my excitement!
What has been your biggest challenge with the series? I know you’ve said you battled a mutiny with Robin over his HEA with Jules, but what other battles have you faced? Who has been the most challenging to write? The most fun?
Here’s wishing you a happy, healthy, (and hopefully warm!) New Years! Thank you for being such an amazing writer, who has brought so much joy and entertainment into my life with your wonderful world of Troubleshooters!
I love your books. I really enjoy the way you write. Who was your first publisher and how long did it take to get published?
Hi Suzanne…can’t wait for this nwxt book!! Love everything I’ve read so far and of course Troubleshooters has got to be my favorite. You’ve made those characters feel like family.
Hello Suzanne –
Love your books – Love Sam & Jules. The Troubleshooters series. Is there any chance that any of the Troubleshooter books would be made into a movie? If so, that would be awesome. Good luck in 2014.
I’d love to see a Troubleshooters movie! I always saw a tie-in between your books and the TV series The Unit. And a star of that series, Max Martini, as Sam!
Cynthia who?
So excited can’t wait. Hello from North Carolina!
Hey –
Just wanted to thank you for all the great stories. I’ve even passed my love of the Troubleshooters down to my daughter. We both love Jules and Robin and she’s a big supporter of the human rights campaign. I have to tell you, though, that my favorite book of yours is Letters to Kelly. I have it o a special plsce on my keeper shelf.
I’m so sorry to miss this. (Darn work!). What I want to know is what ofusic if any do you listen to when you write? Or if you are having a bit of writer’s block what’s music gets you thru it?
Can’t wait until next month when I see you in Florence, SC!
So excited to hear about the new series. Looking forward to reading the first, but it will be so hard to wait for the next two!! It will feel like being back with good friends.
I absolutely love you! You are my favorite author. I’ve read everything you’ve written and I can’t wait to read your new book.
I also wanted to say that I think you’re an amazing mom and I love how you support your son.
i’m a huge fan! as a librarian in southwestern michigan i refer your books (especially your seal team 16 stories) to anyone looking for a new read… i also had a chance to read an early copy of ‘do or die’ thru netgalley, and i’m sure you’ve got another winner there! keep writing… i’d love to see more about the ‘team’!
Love your books, can’t wait for your new one!
Hey Suzanne! Love your books and especially your commitment to your son! Quick question: when are you coming to Dallas/Ft Worth area?
Hi, Suz –
I met you a long time ago, both at a signing in Encino, CA (at a Barnes & Nobles that has since closed) and at several events in Reno, NV. Do you ever plan to come to the west coast again? Also, how do you keep all of the plot details straight when a series is on its 15th or 16th book?! (I’m picturing a giant white board with a hand drawn diagram!) Last question, do you have an assistant who helps with some of the fact checking, etc.?
This one new one looks like a lot of fun. Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your books and find your tale of finally being able use the word, penis, in one of your stories amusing and, in its way, rather sad given that you didn’t start your writing career in the 1850s. All the best, Maryse
Love your books – can’t wait to read DO OR DIE!
I’m sure its been said but, more Roger and Allysa- will never get enough! Btw ♥ ♥♥ your work!
I can’t wait to read it.. I have loved every book!
Thank you so much! 🙂
I am so looking forward to getting my hands on this book! I love that this is a new and exciting series but like most of us on here, I would love, love, love another Troubleshooters book!
Ah, but Lori, I think you’re going to find that DO OR DIE ***is*** a Troubleshooters book. 🙂 Think of it like FLASHPOINT — the start of a new story arc, set in the TS world!
Hi Suz,
Hello from Australia! (I really hope I have estimated the time difference right, it’s currenlty 11am on Friday here) Thanks for having a competition that anyone on Earth can win!
Can’t wait to read your new book! I am really looking forward to more Martell.
Hi, Joleen!
Yes, I wanted to make sure that ALL my readers could win the ARC! Yay! And yes, you got the time right! Although you might notice that my blog is set for UK time, where it is very, very late at night! 🙂
Yeah the UK time really threw me there! So lovely to chat to you Suz, I LOVE your books and everything you do!
Hello, everyone! Welcome to my first chat on this, my shiny new website!
Post questions, comments or even just say hi to be entered in the contest for the signed ARC of DO OR DIE. (And remember to check tomorrow’s countdown page, where the winner will be announced!)
Some of you may have already read an advance copy of DO OR DIE — please, no questions or spoilers about this book since most people won’t read it until after its February 4th release date! Thank you!
Here we go!
Oh, and remember to hit refresh so that you can see the new comments and replies as they are posted!
Love your books!
Thank you so much! 🙂
I’m dying to see Martell Griffin again! And I heard Jules Cassidy might have a cameo too. So excited!
Me too! Evil Government Overlord Jules 🙂
Martell was SO much fun to write! I think you’re gonna enjoy his appearance in DO OR DIE. (And he’s the hero of the book I’m writing right now, called ALL OR NOTHING!!!)
As for Jules, it’s definitely a cameo for him in DoD. Although his FBI teammates, Deb and Yashi both play major secondary roles in this book! (Deb spends lots of time on the phone, trying to talk to Jules!)
Sooo excited to hear Martell has his own book coming!!
Can’t wait to read it! 🙂
Thank you! I can’t wait till you read it, too!!!!
Hi, Suz! I love your stuff! I can’t wait to read this new book!! I loved your SciFi book, but have been waiting forever (2 years?) for the second book in the series!! Any idea when we might see it?
Hey, Mary! Good question.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t a very large readership for BORN TO DARKNESS, so I’ve had to delay a bit in writing and releasing the sequel. (I’ve got the next two or three books outlined!)
I promise to get to them at some point!
In the meantime, I’ve been writing a YA series with my daughter, Melanie, and those books are set in the “Fighting Destiny” world. I know it’s weird, but I’m hoping that the series will catch on with younger readers, who will then grow into the “Fighting Destiny” series! 🙂
And in the meantime, I’m getting the chance to work with my extremely talented daughter, whose writing voice is suited to YA books. It’s a win/win/almost win for readers who liked the FD series…?
That sounds very interesting! Do you have an idea of when the first book will come out? What age group are you aiming at?
The first book is called NIGHT SKY and is scheduled to be released in hardcover and ebook from Sourcebooks in late 2014. (Very exciting!) The heroine of the story is on the verge of turning 17, so our target audience is… middle school to age 108? 🙂
Awesome! I will have to get my 12, 13 and 15 year olds hooked on Suz books too!
I am so looking forward to this book! I’ll be at the B&N in Raleigh, NC to see you again. I know you won’t remember us, but my daughter and I met you after a performance of Looking For Billy Haines. I was moving her back home for the summer from Columbia and was so excited that we were able to see the play and to meet you.
Hey, Larri, actually, I do remember you! (It was lovely to have readers come to the play — I was very appreciative that you took the time to do that!)
It’ll be lovely to see you in Raleigh — that’ll be my first time visiting that city. And I’m thrilled to be able to invite (drag?!) Virginia Kantra along with me to the signing! I’ve just connected with the bookseller who’s assured me that she’ll have copies of Virginia’s two most recent books on hand. (CAROLINA MAN comes out in March — I’m so excited to read this book with a returning military hero. Themes I love in a book by an author I love! Yay!)
I am SO glad/happy/excited about your new book. I have been missing the “GUYS”! Also – I love the TTD series – any more coming out?
Hey, Joan! Welcome to my website! Thanks for your kind words!
Right now, no plans to add to the TDD series, I’m afraid. (Although one of my most FAQs has to do with Tasha and Thomas King…) 🙂
I am SO excited about this book!!! Thank you for writing again.
Thank YOU, Shannon! 🙂
I’m a big fan in general, but how did you decide that Troubleshooters needed a break? It sounds like you love the characters as much as your readers, and I loved Born to Darkness, but it’s like family moved away! How do you as the creator handle it?
Erin,
I’ve been writing the TS series for many years, and some readers get daunted at the idea of jumping into the middle of a 16+ book series. My publisher and I wanted to try something new, in an attempt to grow my readership, because there was a fear that the TS had become too, well, cumbersome.
In many ways, DO OR DIE is part of the TS series. It’s similar to FLASHPOINT, in that it’s the start of a new story arc, with new characters introduced.
But, in order to more assuage the fears of those readers who want to start at the beginning, we gave this story arc/spinoff its own series name: “Reluctant Heroes.”
Readers who love the TS books will feel right at home. And there are cross-over characters — but nobody with a HUGE amount of backstory baggage! 🙂
I absolutely love your books and recently treated myself to a re-read of the whole Troubleshooters series. It was wonderful! I am so looking forward to this one coming out!
Hey, Ally B — that’s like the ultimate compliment to a writer — hearing about a re-read.
There are so many books out there, it’s humbling to hear that!
So thank you. My night is made! 🙂
I forgot to ask…are you coming to Chicago any time soon?
Actually, no.
The idea of going to Chicago as part of a February book tour!!!!! Brrrrrrr!
But I’m sure I’ll get back to Chicago (and Ohio! I always love visiting Ohio!) in the very near future!
I knew you were smart:-)
Suzanne – are going to see the movie Lone Survivor?
I imagine I will.
But right now, I’ve got the first two eps of the new Discovery channel show LONE TARGET on my DVR. I’ve heard fun things about that show, with its former SEAL star…
I cannot wait for this one!!!!!
Thanks, Joy!
Can’t wait for the new book! I’m getting ready to go back to school, teacher at Valdosta State University, and am trying to figure out how to arrange assignments so I’ll won’t have a ton of assignments to grade when the book comes out. I believe your books would be great discussion starter for my Women’s and Gender Studies classes and am trying to figure out how to incorporate them into a class. Any thoughts? Thanks for all you do both in your books and in life! Teresa
Hi, Teresa, nice to see you here!
Hmm, I’ll have to think more about that! 🙂
I love the way your characters are all real people. That’s what I try to teach my students and that is what you are so good at doing in your books. I’m hoping to see you at the book signing in Jacksonville. I’ll be the one saying, “I’m a big fan!” lol. Teresa
I am so excited for this book! I look forward to seeing you in Glen Allen, Va.! : )
Ah, Sandy, it’ll be nice to see you there, too!
You know, we’re driving up from Florida, and we’ll have our dogs with us in the ol’ hybrid SUV. So we pretty much mapped out our route using Residence Inns (because they’re dog-friendly!) Turns out there’s a Residence Inn in that ‘burb of Richmond, so, here we come! LOL!
Just a quick “hello”. Also I am grateful for all you do for your fans. Thank you for being you and for all you do!
Thanks, Dolores. That’s very sweet!
Hi Suz! I have enjoyed all of your books! So looking forward to Do or Die! Miss the Troubleshooter’s Gang…I re-read every now and then to check in on them!
Thanks, Amy C!
I’m writing up a cast of characters list for DO OR DIE, to use next week during the countdown, and I was flipping through some of the TS books, trying to remember which books both Deb and Yashi play roles in.
I know that Yashi plays a big part in ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT. And both of ’em are in FORCE OF NATURE. I have to do a global search of the later books, see where they turn up. I kinda love both Deb and Yashi — I think you’ll enjoy getting to know them both a little better in DoD!
Yashi & Deb showed up in Breaking Point( Max and Gina’s book) as well.
I wish it was humanly possible for you to write one a month. I love your work, and I love your personal mission. FYI – My kid had to do a current events article synopsis for 6th grade Social Studies and he chose one about N. Mexico passing same-sex marriage. I was so proud of him. Go, kid, go!
Kathy, that’s inspiring to hear! Give him a high five (and a hug!) for me!
I wish I could write a book a month, too. 🙂 I wonder what kind of vitamins I’d have to take to be able to do that…
Hi Suz,
I have been reading your books for years and like everyone else here,am a big fan. Other authors have had some of their books made into “made for TV” films or motion pictures. Since you have recently made a film with your son and husband, any chance that could happen for any of your Troubleshooters stories?
Thanks,
Stella
Hey, Stella!
As we chat, right this moment, my husband Ed is working on a screenplay adaptation of ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT.
Last summer Ed adapted one of my earlier romcoms, a book called KISS & TELL, into a screenplay. It made what would’ve been, IMO, a very nice Hallmark or Lifetime movie. (We still haven’t given up on that one!)
Hi Suz! Can’t wait to read the new book. Love your countdowns and all the fun stuff you come up with to do / share with your readers. Which character from the Troubleshooter series was the most difficult to write?
Amy U: Hmm, that’s a good question.
It might’ve been Mike Muldoon — not because there’s anything wrong with Mike, but because his book followed Kenny “WildCard” Karmody’s. Also? I wrote INTO THE NIGHT (Mike & Joan’s book) right after 9/11. Any book would’ve been hard to write in the aftermath of that.
Can’t wait for the new book! I love the troubleshooters series. You have such talent for combining action and romance. I love it!
Thanks, Yvonne K. 🙂
I love all of your books and am so excited to read the new one! Thanks for all of the wonderful moments you gave us through your stories!
Hey, Sally! I’m excited for you to read DO OR DIE, too. I’m really proud of this one. (I mean, I tend to like all my books, but DoD was extra special!)
The relationship between the former SEAL hero, Ian, and the heroine, Phoebe, was so much fun to write. I loved writing a book where the two main characters fall “in like” before they fall in love. I hope you’re gonna like reading their story as much as I liked writing it!
I’m looking forward to this new adventure. I’m sure to like it, Suzanne, as I do all your books. I still blame you for leading me into Romance. Thanks!
Joysann! 🙂
Hi Suz!
As a huge fan of Jules and Robin (and Sam and Alyssa, and Gina and Max, and Cosmo and…well, you get the picture), I am so grateful for all you do to champion our LGBT community. I consider myself greatly enriched to have met you and Jason (and the rest of the gang) in person. My only wish is to see, at some point in the future, a bisexual male character. Of course,a female character would be awesome as well, but I truly don’t run across many bi-guys in fiction.
I’m looking forward to your next ‘business’ trip to SoCal!
All My Best,
Alex
Thanks, Alex
It was fun meeting you, too! I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
Hi , great to see that your’re doing so well..
I’m looking forward to read your newest creation.
Greatings from Italy
F.Brockmann
Hello, Frank Brockmann! Nice to see you here! 🙂
Oh yeah…forgot to gush earlier about your Huffington Post articles. Always good food for thought for us parents trying to navigate a world that doesn’t always welcome our babies.
Thank you, Teri Anne. It’s been fun blogging for Huffington Post’s Gay Voices. I love being able to tell stories about my mom and dad — good news, about Jason’s wonderful grandparents! Although I gotta admit, writing short — the blogs should come in at no more than 1000K words, which is SHORT (for me!) — is HARD! Still, I love doing it! Thanks for mentioning it!!!
I love everything you write and can’t wait for the new one! I’ve emailed you once before and I was so shocked when you answered immediately. I was listening to ‘Into the Fire’ and became so upset James Nash was killed I threw the headphones across my desk and dashed off an email to you declaring “I can’t listen to anymore! HOW could you have killed Jimmy Nash!!! My favorite character since Flashpoint!!” You replied “Everything would be okay just keep Reading………”.
Thank you for replying my boss was greatly relieved when I stopped crying.
Please keep writing!!!!
Hi, Robin! LOL, I remember that!
“Trust me!” I remember saying that. I was happy that you did! Hugs!!!!
Dagnabbit, I did not get here in time to post a comment, so I thought I’d pop in and say hi on this reply. This is Lynda from Kentucky. You and Ed and Eric used to see me in the lines at book signings with my wonderful, crazy friends a few years back. How are your Savannah and Ken dolls doing? 😉 I’m so excited about the new book and there’s a really big possibility I will be in New Orleans in May. Tell Eric and Ed I said hi!
Love,
Lynda
Hi, Lynda! How are you! (Ken and Savannah are fine!) It would be lovely to see you in NOLA! I will send along your kind words!
What is the funniest thing you’ve written when signing books – either by request or that you chose to write.
How do you arms not fall off after signing and hugging so many books?
I pace myself, Joleen! We usually pick up the books several weeks before the release date, and I sign a few hundred a day. I have to admit that my brain goes before my hand. I don’t like the idea of misspelling a name or crossing something out when I sign someone’s book, so I take frequent breaks!
I think the funniest thing I wrote was in a book that I signed for one of my doctors — a really funny guy I’d known for quite some time. He wanted me to write something like “All of my heroes are inspired by you!”
Another new Brockmann novel! I can’t wait! I loved being able to meet you when you came to Fairfield California. Best night ever!
Elizabeth, that was a fun event! (And I bet I come back in the not too distant future, since that part of California is one of my favorite vacation spots! Napa! Sonoma! Yay!)
That signing was particularly lovely, since Jason was there, too! 🙂
Thanks for responding! I will have to check out the YA series. I’m looking forward to seeing you in person again when you come to NJ. 🙂
That will be lovely! I’m looking forward to it!
I recently discovered that you will be attending RT2014 in New Orleans! This made my decision to go a no brainer! Hope I get to meet you there!
Ooh, Shari! I’m sure we’ll get a chance to meet and talk! RT is so much fun, and… NOLA!
One of my favorite new authors, Joshua Roots, is gonna be at RT, too, and we’re hoping to do some kind of reader schmooze together, so I can introduce him to everyone. (So stay tuned for details about where and when — it might be something super-casual, in a corner of the hotel bar! LOL!)
Oh Suz, the low key schmooze sessions are the best ones!
I am really looking forward to the new book and series. I enjoyed your sci fi book and was sad to here the sequel was delayed. I have been a fan for years and have converted many of my friends. Thank you for making my work days more enjoyable. I listen to books on my iPod at work and yours never disappoint.
Thanks, Teanna. I’m expecting to get a sample of the audiobook of DO OR DIE in the very near future! It’s narrated by Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank — both of whom will be joining me right here for another chat next week, on January 15th, from 9 to 10 p.m. ET!
Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank do a wonderful with the audiobooks versions of your books. Your books became much more enjoyable to listen to when Patrick Lawlor started to read them. I started with the hardback copies of your books and didn’t want to give up reading them but your narrators have made it enjoyable to listen to the books. Now I have to say I am kind of spoiled and don’t mind listening to them.
Patrick’s really cool. He and I talk about character before he records the book — he really wants to get the heroes right. (Did you know that I wrote Izzy Zanella especially for Patrick to read? Yup.)
Sometimes I’ll share info about where I’m going with the series with Patrick (and only with Patrick!) because he might need to know which characters will show up in future books, etc. He’s smart and funny and pretty darn wonderful. I’m a huge fan.
Love all of your books. Can. Not. Wait. The last week is always the most difficult.
Perrin, I feel you! It’s hard for me, too! 🙂
Can’t WAIT for Do or Die!! It’s getting so close now….
Hi, Elizabeth! Thanks for dropping by! 🙂
I am re-reading the Troubleshooters series for about the 5th time (I’m on Into the Fire – my books are starting to fall apart – I’m waiting for them to be released as a set for e-readers). I love that the new series is kind of a spin-off with a few of the characters we know popping in. Do you ever come up to Canada for book signings? You may want to avoid December to March if you do plan to come here.
Cathy, Yeah. Brrr. And thank you for letting me know about your re-read. Music to my ears! 🙂
I’ve only been to Canada a few times, but on one tour we stopped in Stratford, and attended an amazing performance of Romeo and Juliet! (I’d love to go back!)
Just want to say Hi Suzanne! I hope you and your family are well. Say hi to Ed and Jason for me 🙂 I’m looking forward for the release of DO OR DIE, to meet up with the gang again and to read it! I miss the Troubleshooter world and your amazing writing 🙂 I sure hope to make it to the public book signing in New Orleans RT convention to see you again…finger crossed! Have a good day Suz!
Julia! My good friend! How nice to see you here!
I do hope we’ll get a chance to visit when I’m in NOLA — that would be great! (And Jason and his boyfriend Matt are currently on vacation in Disneyworld! They are having a BLAST. I will pass along your greeting!)
It always wonderful to see you! Really jealous that Jason and Matt are at Disney having blast! 🙂 And if I go to public signing in NOLA, I hope to be able to spent more time with you….even when I’m shy, nervous and all LOL! Have a wonderful day!
Can not wait for your new book. Have read all your books and truly enjoy them all. All your characters are special and unique in their own way. Am definitely a Suzanne Brockmann fan.
Thank you, Eleanor, that’s lovely to hear!
Hi Suzanne – I just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading all your books. I’m looking forward to reading this new one and hopefully many, many more!!! I also really enjoyed “The Perfect Wedding” and am glad to hear there may be more movies in the future. Thanks so much. My best to you and your family; you guys are amazing!!
Thanks, Nancy! Making the movie was a crazy experience — we learned a LOT. Jason just visited for the holidays, and we spent quite a bit of time talking about our next project. We’ve got some fun ideas (one of them being a movie version of ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT!
You HAVE to make All Through the Night the movie now that you’ve mentioned it. You can’t tease us with that as a possibility. It HAS to happen! 🙂
We’ll do our best! 🙂
I can’t wait for that on 🙂 Are you guys brainstorming who you might cast as Jules and Robin? Your son, Jason, is such an amazing young man and a great actor, perhaps he will play one of those characters?
I agree, this book would be great as a movie and would love to see your son also in the cast!
Thanks, Stella! We’re doing some research on crowd-sourcing, like with Kickstarter. That could be fun…
Jason definitely is lobbying to play Robin! LOL! But Adam plays a large part in that book, and playing the “bad guy” might be a really fun role for Jace.
A lot of it depends on the funding we can raise. I’d love to cast at least Jules (if not Jules and Robin both) with well known (out gay) actors. That could be fun…
I would love to see Sean Maher as Jules…
Oh yes, I definitely could see Jason as Robin 🙂 He gets my vote!! I’m sure there are a lot of your fans who would agree. Must be time to sign off for you – It was fun chatting. Hope we have a chance to talk again.
I see Sean Maher as Robin!
Sounds good to me too Joleen – but I’m having problems picturing him as blond.
Can’t wait for this one!!! Need to get my order in!!!
Thanks! (Or win the ARC.) 😉
Since coming back to your Troubleshooters world, have any of your characters jumped out and said.. “I want to play, too?”
Hi, Ann! I’m always beating back Jules with a big stick! LOL! (He’d show up in every book, if I let him!)
Love your books, Suz!
Thanks, Becky!
I’m very much looking forward to the new book! It’s so nice in this age of technology to have the immediacy of being able to interact with your fans and for us to interact with you through this blog and on Twitter/Facebook when we can’t get to an event. (I’ll cross my fingers that one day you’ll decide to come across the border and visit Toronto. 😉 ) I look forward to getting my virtual hug with the book (actually my Mum will be getting the book as a late birthday present, so she’ll be getting the hug).
I’ll make sure I send two hugs with your book, Allison! I love being able to connect with readers, so it’s a win/win!
Love your books, I’ve read them all several times, keep writing, please
Thanks, Diane! I will!
I love all of your SEAL books and your Troubleshooters books as well. I check Amazon regularly to see if any new books are due out and pre-order them as soon as I can. I await my UPS delivery the day of publication. My countdown begins with months, not days. Hurry, hurry, hurry!
Linda, LOL! I hear you, though! I really do…
Like everyone else I can’t wait for the new book. Thank you for helping us pass the time by recommending other authors, such as Hank Philippi Ryan. It’s generous of you to give them props publicly.
Hey, Jan! I loves me my Hank Philippi Ryan. The woman can WRITE! (I love Lisa Gardner, too — and tomorrow’s countdown page features a talented debut author named Elizabeth Heiter, who I am very anxious to share with everyone, too!)
I love love love your books! Thank you so much for such wonderful entertaining writing!
Thanks, Kelli! 🙂
Hi Suz, I love ALL your books. Are coming out to the SF Bay Area any time soon? I would love to meet you in person. :). I can’t wait to receive my copy of DoD.
Stephanie, I love visiting SF. LOVE! 🙂 My absolute favorite vacation spot in the world is Napa and Sonoma! So I’m sure I’ll be back there, soon!

Thanks, Heather! I’m glad to hear that! 🙂
I am so sorry I missed the chat. I have read all your books and you are on my buy or die list. I look forward to reading Do or Die.
Okay, gang, we’re approaching 9:30 p.m ET (although the time on our posts are as if we were in the UK, which is kinda cool, if a bit confusing!) and I’m gonna bid you good night!
I thought this format worked nicely, so I’m gonna hold next week’s chat with audiobook narrators Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank here as well! (That’s January 15th, from 9 – 10 p.m. ET)
Be sure to check the countdown page tomorrow to see if you won the ARC of DO OR DIE — you’ll need to email me with your snailmail info so I can send you the book!
Thanks again to everyone who joined me here tonight! I appreciate your kind words and ongoing support so very much! Love, Suz
PS I’ll pop in tomorrow and answer the questions that were posted earlier in the day! Thanks again to all who participated!
So sorry I missed the chat but wanted to say I just love your troubleshooters series. I have my favourites which I am always going back to read. I have just spent the past year listening to the whole audio series while driving, mowing the lawn, and painting the inside of house. Let me tell you my lawns look awesome in the summer, the I side of my house looks amazing, the attention to detail great and I have spent quite abit of extra time driving around aimlessly just so I could listen to abit more – Patrick is amazing ;).
Hi from Down Under – would have loved to join the chat but can never figure out the time differences. Love your books – keep up the great work
