Collect all nine cards...

"And hey," someone else shouts. "I don't live in the U.S. I'm over her in England/Japan/Australia!
How can I get a set?!"
All readers, from anywhere in the world, can get a complete 9-piece set of the super-groovy BtoD
Trading cards as a bonus with my virtual signing. (See details here.)
So that's one surefire way you can get them, even if you don't live in the U.S. (Apologies for being
unable to make the SASE offer to non-U.S. readers. But exchange rates and international mailing...
Argh.)
U.S. residents, you can send three or four or five or six self-addressed stamped envelopes if you like,
(see the Fine Print, below,!) and we'll send you back four random cards and one double in each stamped
envelope that you send us.
To answer your earlier question, "Why would you send me two of the same card," my answer is that
I'm sending you that double-card so that you can... (wait for it!) trade it.
They're trading cards, people! Remember how much fun it was back in fourth grade, when you
collected baseball cards, and you would sit on the tarmac outside the school during recess and make
trades (or better yet, go all in, risk everything, and flip your cards, winner takes all) with Ralph and
Danny and Joe? (Oh, to score a Mets player's card! Yankees schmankees. But I digress.) Or maybe,
for you, it was Pokemon cards. Or Magic cards. Or Monkees cards. (I still have my Monkees cards,
while my baseball cards are long gone. Hmmm.)
You can take your double, and pop on over to my Facebook page and post on my wall to connect
with other readers, and trade it to someone in exchange for one of the cards that you need. Who
knows, you just might make a life-long friend! (When you get to my page, be sure to click on the tab
at the top of the wall that says "Everyone (most recent)" otherwise you won't see the wall posts from
other readers who are looking to trade cards. And, of course, please use common sense and basic
internet safety. Don't post your personal info on the wall. Use a PO Box or a work address when you
exchange addresses, etc. etc. You know how to do it, right?)
Non-U.S. readers! You, too, can visit my Facebook page and get into the trading spirit. Perhaps
someone will be willing to compile and trade a complete set of cards for the UK version of their fav
Harry Potter book? (Or a UK edition of one of my Troubleshooters books, where Izzy speaks with
single quotation marks and says 'colour' instead of "color." <g>)
Think outside of the box! This could be fun.
Or it could be completely annoying for some of you. Fair enough. And that's why I'm includnig a full
set of the cards as an extra-extra bonus for my virtual signing! You can get the cards via my virtual
signing (or at one of the in-store events on my tour, with the purchase of BtoD), without any hassle.
Please note:
The trading cards are 3 x 5 inches and make great bookmarks.
If you want to play the trading card game, please send a #10 business-sized envelope, with a
first-class stamp affixed to:
Suz Brockmann
BtoD Trading Cards
PO Box 5146
Sarasota, FL 34277
Another important note: Please don't send a manila envelope or an oversized envelope, because we're
pushing the single-stamp-first-class-weight with five cards, and may have to send you only four. Also,
my helpers will send only five cards in each envelope, no matter the postage affixed. (Please don't
present them with a moral dilemma. <g>)
Never sent an SASE before?
Here's how it works and what you do: You need two buisness sized (#10) envelopes and two first
class stamps. On one envelope you write YOUR address and you affix a stamp to that envelope.
Fold that envelope and put it into the second envelope, upon which you will write MY address (the
PO Box above). Put your second stamp on that envelope, seal it with that other envelope inside, and
pop it into the mail to me.
In a few days, it'll arrive in my PO box, where I'll open it, take out the envelope upon which you've
written YOUR address, and I'll slip five Born to Darkness Trading Cards into it, seal it, and drop it
back into the mail so that it'll wing its way back to you.
Got it?
Good.
Let the trading games begin!
(And P.S. Coming soon: info on how to get jpegs of the cards, suitable for uploading to your e-reader
or mobile device!)
(Fine Print: Odds are that you'll receive all nine cards (plus some doubles) if you send me three SASEs. If you send
more than six requests, do include a brief note letting us know you're trying to score a second set of cards for your
Great Aunt Elba or your friend Betsy in Ireland. This offer is for readers only, not collectible dealers, although I will
happily share the cards with collectible dealers who are readers! Thank you for your time and attention!)
Meet Shane, Mac, Diaz, Elliot, Bach and
Anna from Born to Darkness...
As of today, 2/16/12, and as long as supplies last...
Readers living in the United States can send a self-addressed stamped
envelope to me, and I'll send you four random but very shiny trading cards,
plus one double.
"But there are nine cards!" you say. "How can I get a complete set? And why, for the
love of God, would you send me two of the same card?"
